Laurel Fork Campground

Description: This campground was established on the site of an old Civilian Conservation Corps location.

Location: Located along the Laurel Fork River between Laurel Fork North and South Wilderness areas, this primitive campground offers visitors to the Middle Mountain area a nice camping opportunity.

Directions: From Elkins, West Virginia, talke Highway 33 east approximately 16 miles to Wymer. Turn south on the Middle Mountain road (Forest Road 14). Travel 11 miles to the junction of Forest Road 423. Take Forest Road 423 east for approximately 1 1/2 miles.

Facilities: There are 15 single unit sites available on a first come, first serve basis. Sites are located in an open area with little vegetative screening. Each campsite has a parking spur, table, fire ring, and lantern holder. Campsites are suitable for tent or trailer camping. Three vault toilets and a non-accessible handpump are available.
