(Washington, DC)- Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr., and Subcommittee Chairmen Jerrold Nadler (D-NY, Constitution Subcommittee) and Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (D-VA, Crime Subcommittee) sent a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey demanding that he provide answers, not public relations spin, to disturbing revelations about pre-9/11 intelligence failures and subsequent civil liberties abuses. This is the second letter to the AG on these matters and directly follows an April 10 response from Brian Benczkowski, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legislative Affairs (OLC), in which the members explain that the attorney general failed to answer several of their specific questions from the first letter sent on April 3.

The April 3rd letter to Justice, the April 10th response from OLC, and today's letter are all linked. The full text of today's letter to the AG is linked below.
