Washington, D.C. — The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) released its Annual Report for FY 2008 today, focusing on how the agency has supervised the thrift industry in a year of historic change and challenge.

The report includes a Message from OTS Director John Reich; a Year in Review section by Scott Polakoff, Senior Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer; a look at how economic conditions affected each of the five OTS regions; and a discussion of the highlights of the year in Supervision, Legal Affairs and other operational areas.

“I am pleased to issue this report with the theme, ‘Supervising Through the Economic Crisis,’” Reich said.  “As I mentioned in the report, I have never witnessed a year like FY 2008 and I am immensely proud of the people in our agency and in our industry who, in the face of enormous challenge, worked so hard to keep homeownership strong in this country.”

The report puts a special spotlight on OTS employees, with photos of individual staff members and a page devoted to photos of the new, entry-level examiners hired during the year in each region.

The report is on the OTS website at http://www.ots.treas.gov/?p=AnnualReport
