"Representing the great people of Western New York has been the highest honor and privilege of my life," said Congresswoman Slaughter.  "I am very proud to continue working in Congress to meet the needs of the families, workers, and small businesses in my district."

"We have much to do," Slaughter continued.  "Our nation and Western New York especially, face incredible economic challenges. My number one priority is to strengthen our economy and put America back to work. I am ready to hit the ground running to help President Obama pass his plan to create and save three million jobs, rebuild our infrastructure, make health care more affordable, and invest in a cleaner and more efficient energy future."
