Internships
If you have ever had questions about the unique dynamics of the legislative process and the community responsibilities of a Member of Congress beyond what your textbooks were able to answer, an internship in the office of Congresswoman Louise Slaughter may be the perfect experience for you.  First-hand experience in a Congressional office will provide you with an unparalleled knowledge and understanding in the development of public policy and governmental affairs.  We offer Congressional internships in Washington, D.C., as well as in Rochester, Niagara Falls, and Buffalo.

As an intern in Congresswoman Slaughter's Washington D.C. office, you will draft letters to constituents, attend committee hearings, write summary briefs, research various issues for the legislative staff, and assist with office duties.  Interns in the district offices work directly with the staff on issues involving constituent concerns and requests.  In all offices, interns are given substantial responsibilities and are an integral part of the team.

We select college students and recent graduates to work as interns in the Washington, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Rochester offices.  Priority is given to residents of the Rep. Slaughter's Congressional district, although all interested students are encouraged to apply. While my office does not have deadlines for internship applications, we encourage you to submit your Internship Application [AdobeAcrobat] as soon as possible.
