The mission of the Substance Abuse Policy Research Program (SAPRP) is to fund substance abuse policy research that can help reduce the harm caused by the use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs in the United States. More info...

SAPRP is authorized through 2009. No further rounds of funding are planned.

 
Public Health Law Research Call for Proposals
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has launched a new program called Public Health Law Research (PHLR). The deadline for submitting brief proposals is May 19, 2009, at 3:00 PM Eastern.

The Alcohol Policy Information System (APIS) is an electronic resource that provides authoritative, detailed, and comparable information on alcohol-related policies in the United States, at both State and Federal levels.  Designed primarily as a tool for researchers, APIS is intended to encourage and facilitate research on the effects and effectiveness of alcohol-related policies. January 1, 2007 update covers all 36 of the APIS "Policy Topics."

ImpacTeen offers several databases available for research purposes. Currently there are databases for drug state-level data and tobacco state-level data. The ImpacTeen Alcohol Legislative Data are incorporated into the NIAAA AIPS database (described ablove).
