SUBJECT: Disposition of Certain Conveyance Seizure Cases

1. DELEGATION. This directive delegates authority to the Commissioner of the United States Customs Service to dispose of conveyances valued at not more than $500,000, which are seized because they have been used in the illegal transportation of any quantity of heroin, 5 pounds or more of cocaine, 10 pounds or more of hashish, 250 pounds or more of any other controlled substance, or firearms in a quantity which is clearly in excess of what would be for personal use.

2. CANCELLATION. This directive cancels Treasury Order 165-27, "Delegation of Authority to the Commissioner of Customs for Disposition of Certain Conveyance Seizure Cases," dated June 6, 1984.
