Important Notice of Revised Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA
The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently
approved revisions to the quality assurance standards required
to be followed by laboratories that are federally operated, receive
federal funds, or participate in the National DNA Index System (NDIS).
The following revisions (Quality Assurance Standards
for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories and
Quality Assurance Standards for DNA Databasing Laboratories)
were approved by the FBI Director in July 2008. These revisions
will take effect on July 1, 2009. These revised
Standards are also available on the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS)
Web site at http://www.fbi.gov/hq/lab/html/codis1.htm.
