FEMA Staff Still at Freeze Disaster Service Centers

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- FEMA representatives remain available at various Disaster Service Centers to answer inquiries from people affected by last December's freeze disaster.

Until further notice, FEMA staff will be at:

999 Park Street, Orange Cove:Fresno County
580 Tulare Street, Parlier:Fresno County
10215 Stobaugh Street, Lamont:Kern County
54 N. Main Street, Porterville:Tulare County
250 E. Antelope, Woodlake:Tulare County
761 S. "C" Street, Oxnard:Ventura County

The agency representatives can provide information. However, applications for disaster assistance are made through FEMA's toll-free Teleregistration system, and will be accepted by telephone through August 9, 1999.

People who suffered losses because of the freeze (between December 20 and 28, 1998), and who live or work in counties designated as disaster areas, should call: (800) 745-0243; or TTY, (800) 462-7585, for those with speech or hearing impairments.
