- This November during the Asia-Pacific Broadcast Union's General Assembly in Bali, the ABU formally presented the AMAI partnership to their members and awarded the first-ever ABU Prize Award for HIV/AIDS Reporting. Dewi Suspaningrum of Metro TV, Indonesia won for "I Want to Live." www.theamai.org
- On November 20, the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Center for Strategic and International Studies co-hosted a luncheon forum on the political developments in Zimbabwe, including its impact on the nation's strained health-care system. The Forum featured keynote remarks by Hopewell Rugoho Chin'ono, the Zimbabwean television journalist who received the overall 2008 CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Award as well as the Kaiser Family Foundation Award for Excellence in HIV/AIDS Reporting in Africa this summer.
