FVS Data
The Forest Vegetation Simulator simulates vegetation change based on forest inventory or stand examination information about the forest, stand, and trees. Data can be input into FVS through text files or an input database. FIA data or data stored in the Forest Service Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) database can easily be translated into FVS-format.

- Forest Inventory & Analysis (FIA)
The home page of the USDA Forest Service unit responsible to develop, analyze,
and maintain forest resource information. The FIA website does not include
FVS-ready data, but it is a source of data we have processed for use with FVS.
- FSVeg
The Natural Resources Information System (NRIS) Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) contains: data collection protocols, national data codes, data entry forms, Oracle database, and reports. FSVeg is designed to implement Forest Service data standards and remote sharing of field sampled vegetation data. The data stored in FSVeg includes data about trees, fuels, down woody material, surface cover, and understory vegetation.

Instructions for creating new Suppose shortcuts or changing the default start
directory for Suppose. Provides default access to a specific FVS dataset.
