Future Development of DOCLINE to include….

NLM will be looking into ways to best route and/or reroute requests
using cost as a factor as we work on the redesign of the Requests and
Serial Holdings modules scheduled for development over the next year.
All libraries should review and update their institution record
annually, or whenever changes take place. The information is used by
the DOCLINE system for its various functions and by fellow DOCLINE
libraries daily to evaluate lender services and fees, and obtain contact
information.
In particular, please review and update your library’s cost information
found in your institution record (Institutions / Update / Services &
Fees). Your fellow DOCLINE libraries need this information when
selecting potential lenders. Also, NLM will be analyzing library cost
information as part of our design process in evaluating any changes to
routing based upon cost.
For those libraries concerned about the logistics and administrative
overhead billing libraries outside of their routing table, we encourage
you to consider joining EFTS. See
