REDUCTION IN FORCE


Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Distribution Center, Memphis Caretaker Organization, Memphis, Tennessee and Local 2501, American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO, Case No. 99 FSIP 86, July 27, 1999 (Release No. 422).

Concerning the Most Efficient Organization (MEO) for a pending reduction in force (RIF), the UNION proposed an increase in staffing levels to a total of 72 full-time positions to alleviate overtime work demands and costs.

The AGENCY proposed to eliminate some full-time positions and establish a number of seasonal or part-time positions tailored to meet actual workload requirements.

The PANEL ordered the parties to adopt the AGENCY's proposal.
