A Risky Environment for Investment A Risky Environment for Investment

Abstract
Unusual weather phenomena in recent years have demonstrated how climate change is beginning to have an impact on people and their money. Institutional investors are beginning to realize that taking environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues onboard is in the long-term interest of the investments that they hold. A number of international initiatives now seek to incorporate ESG factors into virtually every segment of the market. Currently investors are focusing mainly on getting information from companies on environmental issues, but the challenge remains to actually incorporate environmental and social concerns in investment strategies.
