2008 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is Here!

Combined Federal Campaign logo - You can be a star in someone's life!

The DOE 2008 Combined Federal Campaign will be launched on Monday, October 6, 2008, in the Forrestal auditorium and via video link to the Germantown auditorium.  Please join us at 10:30 a.m. to hear opening remarks from Secretary Bodman.  Come and join your colleagues as we “Board the Monument Express” for this year’s CFC Campaign.  CFC opening day representatives from local and national charities will be available from 9:00 a.m. until12:30 p.m., in the hallway adjacent to the Forrestal main auditorium and the Germantown lobby near the cafeteria.

The theme for this year’s CFC Campaign is again “Be a Star in Someone’s Life,” and at DOE we have a patriotic theme tied to our national monuments.  Last year, DOE Headquarters federal employees generously contributed over $1.2 million to support numerous worthy causes in our communities and nationwide.  For all of you who gave so generously last year, please consider increasing your contribution for this year.  For those of you who did not participate in the campaign last year, please seriously consider making a donation to the cause that means the most to you.  There are many organizations from which you can choose, such as those that provide assistance to children in the local community and provide emergency relief nationwide.  The CFC offers a way for you to be a star and make a real difference in someone’s life.

In the next few weeks your organization’s CFC Key Worker will visit you to solicit a contribution, answer any questions you many have, and provide you with a pledge card and “Catalog of Caring,” a booklet providing information about the participating charities.  As always, payroll deduction, checks, or cash are available as payment options.  Additional information is available on the DOE CFC website at cfc.doe.gov.  Please watch for other CFC events throughout DOE headquarters over the next few weeks!

No matter where you live, work, or play, CFC charities are making your neighborhood, your nation, and your world a better place.
You too, can be a Star in Someone’s Life by participating in the CFC.

CFC Committee:    Secretary Samuel Bodman, Chairman – DOE CFC
