Dawn Rivers Baker

Dawn Rivers BakerDawn Rivers Baker is the President and CEO of Wahmpreneur Publishing, Inc., and the Editor/Publisher of The MicroEnterprise Journal.  Her professional memberships include the Online News Association, the International Council of Online Professionals, and Women Impacting Public Policy.  She is also the founder and chair of the Microbusiness Research Institute, a not-for-profit research organization dedicated to documenting the demographics and the economic and policy needs of the more than 20 million microbusinesses in the U.S.  The Syracuse (NY) District of the U.S. Small Business Administration named Ms. Baker their 2003 Small Business Journalist of the year.

Ms. Baker is intimately acquainted with both the heights and depths of human endeavor as a result of a life that spans just about every socio-economic lifestyle available in this varied country.  She rose out of poverty through education, earning an A Better Chance (ABC) scholarship that sent her to Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Virginia.  From there, she attended Princeton and Columbia Universities, and went to work in legal administration for The Atlantic Recording Corporation and for premier Manhattan-based law firm Rosenman & Colin.
