A proposed new section of Madison County’s zoning ordinance aims to improve cell phone service while protecting scenic views from tall, unsightly towers.
After months of discussion, a “wireless communications facilities” ordinance amendment is on the table for local residents to consider. A three-person committee – comprised of the Madison County Planning Commission’s Jacki Eisenberg, Ray Gooddall and David Jones – was established this past year to discuss what types of guidelines should be adopted regarding towers and antennas to provide both cell phone and wireless broadband Internet services.
