Areas of Responsibility
- Responsible for helping PSR members become technology leaders within their institutions, and helping members sort out the bewildering array of new technologies as they become available.
- Teaching classes, via distance education and in person,
related to a variety of technology topics, including blogs and wikis, mobile technologies, Web 2.0 technologies, networking, and videoconferencing/voice over IP technologies.
- Consulting with members on any technology-related project or question.
- Investigating and disseminating information about new technologies for biomedical information access and online communication to members as they become available.
Background
- M.S. in Library and Information Science from Drexel University, 1983
- Co-Director of the Health Education Assets Library (HEAL) project, a national database of freely available multimedia materials for health sciences education
- Over sixteen years of experience teaching technology classes
