Millennium Challenge Corporation Releases Interim Environmental Guidelines for Public Comment

Washington, D.C. — Today, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) released its interim environmental guidelines for public comment.  The purpose of these guidelines is to describe MCC's environmental review process to ensure that the projects undertaken as part of programs funded under MCC Compacts with eligible countries are environmentally sound, designed to operate in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and are not likely to cause a significant environmental, health, or safety hazard. 

The interim guidelines are open to public comment for 90 days beginning March 4, 2005.  Comments should be submitted to web@mcc.gov .  The guidelines are available here.
