Office of Science

The Genomes to Life Research Program is expecting to publish a solicitation for new research on or about January 14, 2002. It is anticipated that up to $7 million will be available to establish one large, well integrated, multidisciplinary (e.g., biology, computer science, mathematics, engineering, informatics, biophysics, biochemistry) research team that addresses goals of the Genomes to Life research program http://www.doegenomestolife.org/. Applicants will be strongly encouraged to include, where appropriate, partners from multiple institutions, including DOE national laboratories, universities, private research institutions, and companies. The solicitation is expected to be similar to LAB Notice 02-13 in content http://www.sc.doe.gov/production/grants/LAB02_13.html.

The deadline for submitting applications is expected to be approximately April 22, 2002. Applicants will be asked to submit a Notice of Intent to Apply, containing a title, a list of investigators and potential collaborators and areas of proposed research and technology development by approximately February 11, 2002.
