House Judiciary Antitrust Panel to Hear from Oil Industry Executives in Series on Rising Gas Prices

(Washington, DC)- Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) announced that the Committee's Task Force on Competition Policy and Antitrust Laws will hold a hearing titled: Retail Gas Prices, Part 2: Competition in the Oil Industry. The hearing will be held on Thursday, May 22, at 11 a.m. in room 2141 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Executives from ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, ConocoPhillips, and the BP oil companies will testify.

Peter Robertson, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chevron Corporation;

John Hofmeister, U.S. President, Shell Oil Company;

John Lowe, Executive Vice President, Exploration and Production, ConocoPhillips;

Robert Malone, Chairman and President, BP America

Note: The Secretary General of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was invited to testify, but was unable to confirm for this date.
