(Washington, DC)- House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) sent a letter yesterday to Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Director Robert S. Mueller, III asking that he provide FBI documents relating to the 1972 murder of Angola prison guard Brent Miller, a crime for which inmates Herman Wallace and Albert Woodfox were held in solitary confinement for the past 36 years. Conyers visited the inmates last month and has since reviewed evidence suggesting their innocence and misconduct by prison officials. There is also evidence that suggests the FBI has conducted its own investigation of this matter. The text of the letter is linked.
