Several schools in our area are implementing parenting classes through a partnership with our Family Literacy Program and the local extension agent. Our local community college offers a Literacy Specialist Certification in Early Childhood Education. And the Ohio Department of Education developed a curriculum framework for pre-K through third grade called "Connections" which includes a significant section on school involvement in Family Literacy. That was about all I found. In many schools, the parent-teacher organizations seem to focus strictly on funding.
