DotIdeas For Comprehension Instruction from K-12 Research

Overview: Relationship Between ABE and K-12 Findings

All of the topics and subtopics used to categorize suggestions for ABE reading instruction are listed above for reference. Only the highlighted categories (those with links) contain Ideas for alphabetics instruction based on findings from the K-12 research. These Ideas for alphabetics instruction were derived from the summary of the National Reading Panel's investigation of K-12 reading instruction research (NRP, 2000a, 2000b). Because these suggestions are based on research with children, care should be taken when applying them in adult education (see On the Use of K-12 Research).
