Comments:I would like to know if the FTC is going after those collection agencies that are violating consumer rights by calling them and threating to either, arrest them, call their employer or relatives if they do not call the agency back immediately? I have a case where a so called collection agency from a payday loan lender is calling me everyday about 5 - 8 times a day with threats such as these. The person (s) have even called and requested to speak with a manager at work and told him the exact same thing. Isn't this illegal? I have spoken with this person who has serveral different names and asked for it in writing, and for the so called statement to be mailed to my home address on file. I have even gone so far as to ask the caller for their company address and I have gotten hung up on and told "If you don't send money now, "Only God can help you." How does a comsumer respond to these threats when this sort of language is used? Also, isn't this a form of blackmail? Thank you
