Foul weather shuts down ski areas

Warm winds that razed Southcentral on Wednesday shut down skiers, closing two alpine ski areas and at least one popular nordic trail system. Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood and Hilltop Ski Area in Anchorage both closed, and a reopening today looking iffy.
