Center for Advanced Studies

Picture of students carrying books The Center for Advanced Studies was established in 1990 to support and facilitate faculty and staff professional development at the Coast Guard Academy. CAS mainly achieves this through encouraging and supporting research and publication activities. The faculty and staff at the CGA are a highly talented group of professionals who collectively maintain expertise in a broad range of topics. Some of their research is published as CAS Reports and can be accessed via the Reports link. Highlights of current research activities are described under the Research Activities link.

In addition, each summer CAS supports the research activities of 2 faculty members. The details of this exciting competitive summer fellowship program, and past recipients, are found in the "Summer Fellowship" link.

For more information on the Center for Advanced Studies, or this website, please e-mail any individual on the staff through the CAS Staff link.
