Admissions Briefings & Cadet-led Tours: Held most Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. in Waesche Hall. Go to Schedule a Visit to make an appointment. See also Tours below.

Automated Teller Machine (ATM): Located in the main entrance of Johnson Hall.

Book Store: Located in Chase Hall. Visitors are welcome to shop for souvenirs. Open Mon-Fri from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Call (860) 444-8308 for questions.

Cadet Drills (also called Parades, Regimental Reviews): These impressive, formal reviews of cadets in their military dress are held outdoors most Fridays at 4 p.m. in fall and spring (weather permitting) and feature precision marching, riflery, music, flags and occasional honorary guests. Call Public Affairs for specific dates. (860) 444-8270

Chapel: Open daily, sunrise to sunset.

Eagle: When in port, the tall ship Eagle is open for tours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (860) 444-8595 Click here for Eagle's schedule.

Food / Dining: Visitors can get breakfast or soup and a sandwich along with a beautiful waterview while dining at the affordable Dry Dock snack bar in Leamy Hall (open during visiting hours) or can enjoy an upscale cafeteria and classic maritime theme during lunch at the more formal Officer's Club in Yeaton Hall (Mon- Fri, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Gift Shop / The Exchange: (in temporary quarters on Harriet Lane next to Leamy Hall during renovations - shop is fully operational but with limited stock during renovation.) This large, centrally located campus general store offers a broad variety of goods. Offerings include Coast Guard and Academy branded clothes, souvenirs and marine-themed collectibles as well as designer clothes, electronics, home decor, music, videos and dry goods. Open Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For further questions call (860) 441-8491.

Lodging: There are several hotels located nearby for public lodging. See "local accomodations" in sections links at right. Military and authorized personnel may stay in guest quarters while at the Academy by calling (860) 444-8664.

Museum: Spanning the 200-year history of America's premier maritime service, this collection features paintings, medals, ship models, uniforms, figurehead carvings and more. Located on the main floor of Waesche Hall, the same building as Library and Admissions. Free & Open to the Public (ID needed to get on campus) - Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 4:30 p.m.  The museum is closed on all federal holidays and on weekends during the Academy's winter, spring, and summer breaks.  Click here for more information.

Parking:Though new construction has temporarily restricted parking availability, the Coast Guard Academy welcomes visitors and provides clearly marked Visitor spaces near the Museum (Waesche Hall) and beside the Visitors Center. Added visitor parking, if necessary, can be found at the Alumni Center.

Pets: Pets must be on a leash at all times.

Restrooms: Public restrooms are located in Waesche Hall (near the Museum and Admissions Office), and in Leamy Hall adjacent to the Dry Dock snack bar.

Speed Limit: A 15-mph limit is strictly enforced on the Academy grounds. All traffic must yield to personnel marching in formation.

Tours: The Academy is an "open installation." In addition to the cadet-led tours (see Admissions Briefings above), visitors are also welcome to take a self-guided tour daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is no admission charge though an ID is required to get on campus. Walking maps are available in the Museum or from Admissions, both located in Waesche Hall on the north end of campus.

Visiting Buses: Buses may drive around the Academy, except the waterfront area, and should unload and park in front of the Visitors Center or Museum.

Visiting Hours: Daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Visitors Center: Visitors should report to Admissions on the lower floor of Waesche Hall (same building as the Museum and Library). The Visitors Center is closed until further notice.
