The United States Coast Guard Academy Information Services Division is headed by the Chief Information Officer, CDR Andrew J. Sorenson. As the CIO, his goals, and that of his staff, are to provide cadets, faculty and staff with reliable computing, network and telecommunications services, and to introduce new technologies in support of Academic programs and the Leadership Development Center’s mission.

The Information Services Division is made up of three branches:

• The Support Branch provides services related to computer support, training, network management, system administration and cadet computer support.
• The Applications Branch is responsible for the maintenance and development of in-house software programs in support of the cadet program, as well as the Academy’s Intranet Sharepoint Portal and the Internet site.
• The Telecommunications Branch is responsible for all telephone systems, military message traffic and video teleconferencing.
