Pelosi Statement on Tony Snow
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today on former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, whose funeral was held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington:
“Tony Snow was a man of deep, passionate beliefs, but also remarkable kindness and gentility. Even through his battle with cancer, he showed us all how to live life: with courage, determination, and humor. In his work as White House spokesman and speechwriter, Fox News journalist and syndicated columnist, Tony exhibited an extraordinary ability to connect with the American people.
“Tony was a dedicated public servant and my husband Paul and I were proud to be among his many friends. I extend my deepest sympathies to Tony’s wife, Jill, and their three children, Kendall, Robbie, and Kristi. I know that Tony Snow’s colleagues and friends at the White House and at Fox News held him in the highest regard and will deeply miss his friendship. Most of all, I hope it is some comfort to them that so many throughout America and the world are thinking of them and praying for them in this difficult time.”
