Pelosi Statement on the Death of Jack Valenti
Washington, D.C.—Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the death of Jack Valenti:
“Jack Valenti was a true patriot who served our country with distinction as a brave fighter pilot in World War II and as a public servant during the Johnson Administration. A strong advocate for our economy and American exports as head of the Motion Picture Association of America, Jack approached each issue with the sprit of bipartisanship, earning respect on both sides of the aisle.
“As an Italian American, I take special pride in the life, leadership, and legacy of Jack Valenti. His brilliant career was marked by excellence, humanity, and humor.
“My husband Paul and I express our deepest sympathy to his family, whom he adored, and we hope that it is a comfort to his wife Mary Margaret, his children Courtenay, John, and Alexandra, and his two grandchildren that so many people share their loss and are praying for them at this sad time.”
