The proactive Advising Program was designed to facilitate a cadet's development into a leader of character. During the first semester of 4/C year, cadets meet with their academic advisor every two weeks where in addition to approving course registration, schedule changes, and course drops/adds, advisors help cadets make the transition from high school to college, develop effective study skills, and learn to set priorities. As part of the Guide for Officership and Leader Development (GOLD), the academic advisor, as well as the Company Officer and Coach, periodically review each advisee's Cadet Individual Development Plan (CIDP).
