MCC CEO Paul Applegarth Offers Condolence on the Death of Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania

Washington, D.C.— Millennium Challenge Corporation CEO Paul Applegarth released the following statement to offer condolence on the death of Georgia Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania:

“On behalf of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), let me express my heartfelt condolences to the citizens of Georgia for the loss of esteemed Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania. Please accept our deepest sympathies during this difficult time.

I met Prime Minister Zhvania on a number of occasions, including during my visit to Georgia last June. I was personally moved by his strong enthusiasm for and commitment to the future of the Georgia. In addition to being a visionary leader and stalwart supporter of the principles of the MCC, I believe that the late Prime Minister was one of our strongest partners in the fight for democracy and freedom.

We have lost a cherished and admirable leader in Prime Minister Zhvania. We join the people of Georgia in mourning his loss.”
