Millennium Challenge Corporation CEO Paul Applegarth to Travel to Sri Lanka

Paul Applegarth, CEO of Millennium Challenge Corporation, will travel to Sri Lanka March 28 - April 1. Sri Lanka was selected as a MCA eligible country for fiscal years 2004 and 2005. 

Mr. Applegarth plans to meet with senior members of the Sri Lankan government including President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, members of the private sector, civil society and nongovernmental organizations and other international donors. His trip includes visits to a Sri Lankan garment maker, agricultural areas and tsunami-affected communities.

Mr. Applegarth looks forward to understanding Sri Lanka's ideas for economic growth and poverty reduction, medium to long-term reconstruction and fostering a collaborative relationship with the Sri Lankan government as a partner in the Compact process.
