PubMed for Handhelds has added a new feature that allows users to search Medline using free text, natural language queries. This feature also includes a built-in spell checker.

Here’s a tip, the plain text website that is PubMed for Handhelds is useful not only for PDA users but for anyone with a slow internet connection that wants a fast and easy way to search PubMed.

  Five libraries in the NN/LM Middle Atlantic Region have been selected by the American Library Association to host the National Library of Medicine exhibit, “Changing the Face of Medicine: Celebrating America’s Women Physicians” in 2005. NLM mounted the initial exhibition honoring the lives and accomplishments of these women in the hope of inspiring a new
generation of medical pioneers.

The exhibition provides a marvelous panorama of the many ways that women have influenced and enhanced the practice of medicine and the individuals

If you did not have an opportunity to view the exhibit at NLM in Bethesda, do look for it and any accompanying programs the libraries sponsor. When we know the exact dates for each venue we will send an alert.
