Small Business Administrator Coming to Wyandot, Hancock Counties Friday, Jordan Announces

Washington, DC -- Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) will host Steven C. Preston, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), on a tour of flood-damaged areas of Wyandot and Hancock Counties on Friday, August 31.

Jordan and Preston will visit disaster recovery centers (DRCs) set up in both counties by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) following last week’s catastrophic flooding.

The tour follows a visit to Hancock County last week by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and FEMA Director R. David Paulison.

“The personal tour by Secretary Chertoff and Director Paulison helped expedite Monday’s disaster declaration by the President, which freed up federal aid to our residents,” Jordan said.  “I’m pleased to host Administrator Preston on this visit, as the SBA will play a key role in getting area families and businesses back on their feet.”

Area media are welcome to cover Jordan and Preston at the Wyandot County DRC (Solid Waste Recycling Center, 11329 County Highway 4 in Carey) from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and at the Hancock County DRC (Hancock Recreation Center (The Cube), 3430 North Main Street in Findlay) from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
