Washington, DC -- Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) today invited Steven C. Preston, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), to tour flood-damaged businesses and meet with affected residents in Ohio’s Fourth Congressional District.
The request follows a visit to Hancock County last week by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director R. David Paulison to see the effects of last week’s intense rainfall in north central and northwestern Ohio.
“Last week’s tour of Hancock County by Secretary Chertoff and Director Paulison helped expedite Monday’s disaster declaration by the President, which freed up federal aid to our residents,” Jordan said. “The SBA will play a key role in getting area families and businesses back on their feet after these devastating storms, so it’s important for the SBA to see the damage firsthand.”
