Jordan Rallies Crowd at March for Life

Washington, DC -- Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) addressed tens of thousands of pro-life supporters from across the nation earlier today at the 34th annual March for Life in Washington.

"Of all the issues before Congress, there is none more fundamental than protecting the sanctity of human life.  It is at the cornerstone of our Constitution and our society," Jordan said.  "I was pleased to see so many Right-to-Life supporters from Ohio and our congressional district at the March."

The march is held annually on the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.  President Bush addressed the group by telephone prior to the March.

Jordan was joined by students and other constituents from across Ohio's Fourth Congressional District.  Ohio participants joined Jordan in his congressional office following the March for refreshments.

Jordan is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and the Pro-Life Caucus.  The first bill he cosponsored as a member of Congress was the Right to Life Act, protecting the constitutional rights of the unborn.
