Washington, DC -- A Riverside High School student was named the Fourth Congressional District winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) has announced.
Andrea McCully, who will attend Urbana University in the fall, won the district-wide competition with her charcoal drawing entitled “2nd Lieutenant Mary Margaret Miksh.” This piece, her first charcoal work, will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year.
Bryan Kaffenbarger of Champaign County’s Triad High School was named runner-up, while Jocelyn Biddle of Richland County’s Mansfield Christian High School took third place.
Jordan presented ribbons and certificates to the participating students at an event held at Lima’s Lepo Works art studio earlier this month. He thanked David and Robert Lepo for judging the students’ work and hosting the awards presentation event.
