Jordan Announces Funding for Neil Armstrong Airport

Washington, DC--The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved $150,000 in entitlement funding for Wapakoneta’s Neil Armstrong Airport, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) has announced.

“The businesses and individuals who rely on Neil Armstrong Airport will greatly benefit from the improvements made possible through this funding,” Jordan said.  “Air infrastructure is important to every community and every local economy in our congressional district.”

The funding will be put toward taxiway rehabilitation and the installation of automated weather observing equipment.

The grant was awarded under the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP), which has provided federal grants for airport development since 1982.  Wapakoneta received $236,000 in AIP funding in 2004 and $34,500 in 2005.
