Department of Policy and International Relations

The Policy and International Relations Department:

  • Manages the annual process to select Compact and Threshold-eligible countries.
  • Ensures effective donor coordination.
  • Coordinates the technical economic analysis that underpins MCC's engagement with partner countries and the development and conduct of rigorous independent evaluations of MCC programs
  • Develops strategies to increase private sector trade and investment partnerships in MCC eligible countries.
  • Formulates mechanisms to leverage MCC funding and generates opportunities for private sector firms to apply their corporate social responsibility funds.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of MCC Threshold Programs

The Department maintains relationships with experts in the development community, donors, private sector businesses, international organizations, and U.S. Government development agencies to:

  • Inform them of MCC policies, programs, and approaches to development.
  • Monitor trends in development policy and to integrate innovative ideas and best practices into MCC’s policies and procedures.
