Step 4: Evaluation
The initial evaluations of the Information Rx project focused on physician assessments of the Information Rx materials and the extent ACP members wrote information prescriptions. A second round of physician evaluations focused more on the impact of Information Rx on a doctor's clinical practice as well as perceived patient outcomes. Patient acceptance, satisfaction, and perceived outcomes of receiving an Information Rx were more comprehensively assessed in 2005. In-process evaluation projects include: the impact of advocacy of Information Rx by a community based health care organization on physician participation and in-depth interviews of patients who are less responsive to a doctor's information prescription. Reports will be published when these evaluations are completed.
