Federal agencies have their own policies on annual fireline safety refresher training. This section provides each agency's policy requirements. NWCG direction for annual safety refresher training is also included. State policies may be added at a later time.

The BIA policy on refresher training is contained in the Bureau of Indian Affairs 2007 Wildland Fire and Aviation Program Management and Operations Guide (also known as the "Blue Book"), Chapter 9, Section E.
The BLM policy on refresher training is contained in the 2008 Interagency Standards for Fire and Fire Aviation Operations (also known as the "Red Book"), Chapter 13.
