Carol C. Gambill

Carol C. Gambill is director of special projects at the Tennessee State Department of Education in Nashville. She is responsible for directing the department's efforts regarding the new Charter School law, the Following the Leaders Program, and the development of a National Science Foundation Math and Science Partnership grant. Ms. Gambill is certified in secondary mathematics, special education, deaf education, and elementary education and has taught students of all ages and abilities in six states.

From educator to administrator, Ms. Gambill has extensive experience in American education. While director of the Special Education Resource Program at Maryville High School in Tennessee, Ms. Gambill spent ten years teaching remedial reading to students who were dyslexic, or learning disabled. Ms. Gambill is also actively involved nationally in mathematics education reform.

Ms. Gambill received a bachelor's degree in deaf education and a master's degree in special education, both from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
