New York, NY -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that the Disaster Assistance Service Center currently located at Pier 94 will move to a new location. Starting Monday, Jan. 7, individuals and families affected by the attack on the World Trade Center can seek federal, state, city and volunteer agency assistance at the new facility, located at 51 Chambers St.

Beginning Monday, January 7, the new DASC will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individuals with previously scheduled appointments at the Pier 94 facility to meet with representatives from various agencies are encouraged to report to the new facility, formerly an Emigrant Savings Bank branch office.

Those with appointments for Saturday, January 5, will be bused from Pier 94 to the Worth Street location. The status and hours of the DASC located at 141 Worth St. are not affected by the change and are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

People affected by the disaster are reminded that they should first register for assistance by calling FEMA's toll-free teleregistration number: 800-462-9029 (TTY: 800-462-7585). All operators have access to translation services, accommodating the many language communities in the New York City area. Both phone lines are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Those who have applied to FEMA for assistance can update their information or check on the status of their application by calling the Helpline at 800-525-0321 (TTY: 800-462-7585) or return to the DASC.
