Geospatial Science at the Department of Energy Activity Portfolio

Geospatial science and the underpinning technology of geographic information systems (GIS) is being applied to help meet the Department’s core missions of defense, energy, environment, and science.  This portfolio introduces many applications of geospatial science from across the laboratories:

  • Critical infrastructure modeling

  • Waste site clean-up, removal, and disposal
  • Ground-water monitoring
