Energy Information Administration logo

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) is a statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy.  Its mission is to provide policy-independent data, forecasts, and analyses to promote sound policy making, efficient markets, and public understanding regarding energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment.  By law, EIA’s products are developed independently and are not subject to clearance by the Department or other government agencies.  EIA neither formulates nor advocates any policy positions, and its views should not be construed as reflecting those of the Department of Energy or the Administration.  EIA issues a wide range of weekly, monthly and annual reports on energy production, stocks, demand, imports, exports, and prices.  It also prepares analyses and special reports on topics of current interest in response to requests from the Congress, the Department and other government agencies.
