PNRNews: The Announcement List for NN/LM PNR Members

PNRNews is the official NN/LM PNR announcement list. This is the communication link used by the staff at the regional medical library (RML) to keep members informed in a timely way about what is happening regionally and nationally with the network and its members. The list has announcements about new funding opportunities from the region, the National Library of Medicine(NLM) and other sources; classes and training opportunities available for members; new initiatives that the RML is undertaking; as well as important announcements from NLM about its resources like DOCLINE, MedlinePlus and PubMed and many others. It also is the mechanism for announcing new articles in Dragonfly, the region's newletter.

PNRNews is an announcement list, not a discussion list. When a library or other organization becomes a network member in our region at least one person in the organization is designated to be automatically subscribed to PNRNews. If you would like to be subscribed to the list please send a message with your name, the name of your organization and your email address to nnlm@u.washington.edu and we will add your name to the list.

The Pacific Northwest also has a regional discussion list called HLIB-NW. It exists to facilitate electronic communications via the Internet among the health sciences library and health information community in the Northwest. It provides a forum for discussing practical, theoretical, and philosophical issues and for exchanging advice, information, ideas, and resources of interest to its intended audience. Since PNRNews messages also appear on HLIB-NW, there is nothing to be gained from subscribing to both lists. If you want participate in a discussion list subscribe to HLIB-NW and ask to be unsubscribed from the PNRNews announcement list.
