The Progress and Achievement Program (PAP) was designed to provide an additional means by which NIEHS grantees can communicate their most significant research results to the NIEHS and ultimately to Congress. Scientific advances and stories of discovery that have been submitted to PAP are reviewed for public health and scientific importance, and the top-ranking submissions form part of the institute's narrative that accompanies its budget request to Congress. Three awards were made this year.
