Assessment and Evaluation Objectives
Objectives for the Assessment and Evaulation Program of the MidContinental Regional Medical Library for 2005/2006
The goal is to develop an ongoing program of assessment and evaluation for all programs and activities conducted under the auspices of the MidContinental Regional Medical Library. This program will identify regional needs and opportunities for program development by
- Documenting member needs and concerns and the Network's response to them
- Profiling of Network Members to identify and promote collaborative efforts
- Helping to identify outcome measures in each focus area
- Coordinating focus groups in the region, analyzing the data and reporting the results
- Consulting with Network members to evaluate their library services
It will also ensure that each project and program instituted by the RML can be clearly evaluated for its effectiveness over the five year contract. The variables to be analyzed are:
- How well the RML activities address the objectives of the NN/LM
- Whether RML efforts increase and/or improve access to health care information in the region
- Whethr the RML efforts increase network membership and activity in the region
- Whether the program fosters collaboration with libraries and health professionals throughout the region
- Whether the use of technology, including the use of QuickPlace, SameTime and similar products, enhances virtual communication
- Whether the decentralized RML model is effective
